We have been learning about Claude Monet and the impressionist art movement. We have been looking at some of Monet’s famous paintings and reflecting on his style which was used to capture everyday life, instantly. This was helped by the invention of paints in tubes. However, impressionism art was not popular with academics who preferred more ‘technical’ works of art and more traditional painting subjects. We used quick brushstrokes, overlapping colour and mixing to help us to paint in Monet’s style.
